Story

Do something amazing today, and support the work Living Options does. Your gift will go towards funding services that make a real difference to the lives of others.

This fundraiser is powered by Reddit Community Funds. Reddit will match up to US$20,000 of eligible donations made to the JustGiving fundraiser run by r/Unexpected for Living Options Devon through 12/31/2024 with a matching donation to Living Options Devon via JustGiving.*

The donations that they receive from us, help to provide services for people with disabilities, Deaf and long-term health conditions. No matter how small or large you consider your donation, you can be certain that you’ll be making a difference.

Living options' work ranges from advocacy and Oliver McGowan training, right through to 4WD trampers, to allow easy access to the countryside for anyone who has difficulty walking, all to empower disabled people to live the life they choose.

Thank you for your support. Let's do something good, together, Reddit.

About the charity

Living Options Devon

The charity has spent thirty years working throughout Devon and the South West to ensure that people with disabilities and Deaf people can live the life they choose. The charity was founded in 1990 by Peter Swain OBE following a life changing spinal injury. Run and led by disabled people, 71% of our Board of Trustees, 39% of our staff and approximately 89% of our volunteers are disabled or Deaf which means that we have lived experience of the issues facing disabled people. Annually, over 10,000 disabled and Deaf people, their families and carers, benefit from LOD services, including training, volunteering, outreach projects and accessible support services. It is a user-led organisation, meaning we have a first-hand understanding of the issues faced by disabled and Deaf people.
