Story
I'm joining Team Blue Light Card Foundation and running the London Landmarks Half Marathon to raise much needed funds to support the Blue Light community.
The Foundation exists to empower members of the Blue Light community, both past and present, and ensure that they feel supported and heard.
They want every member of the Blue Light community to know that they have support, and to know where to find it in their time of need.
Blue Light Card Foundation funds projects across the UK to provide those that deal with the most challenging situations with quality resources, connected environments, and places that support their wellbeing.
Having worked for 18 years in the emergency services I have witnessed and experienced first hand the toll it can take on both mental and physical health. Emergency service workers leave their families and loved ones on a daily basis putting themselves at risk to ensure you and your loved ones stay safe. Worrying data from mental health charities state that 1 in 4 emergency sevice workers have thought about ending their lives.
Last year I diagnosed with PTSD as a result of the work I do, I know how important it is to have the support in place to keep emergency service workers healthy so they can go out and help others
Join my team and donate now - it's time to be there for those who are there for us.
