Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our fundraising page. We are passionate about supporting the RNIB - Royal National Institute of Blind People, and we have a personal connection to the cause. In 2019, a close family member was diagnosed with Autosomal dominant drusen confirmed EFEMP1 gene at only 41 years old. Despite initially showing no symptoms, their vision gradually deteriorated over the years, impacting both eyes. The recent progression in their right eye has been particularly challenging, leaving them with impaired central vision and distorted shapes. As there is currently no cure for this condition, we are participating in the Great North Run 2024 marathon to raise funds for research and support for individuals affected by this condition. Every penny counts towards our target of £1000, and your generosity will make a meaningful difference. Thank you for your support.
