Beth says "I want to protect the rainforest trees because they are good and if they are gone it'll just be like a desert. And then the animals will have nowhere to live and no food and they will all die. And trees are important because fruit grows on them too." We had been reading the great kapok tree and she wanted to help save the rainforest.
