Story
On the 30th May, my mum (Julie Blackford) became very ill. Her internal defibrillator went off 8 times before she had a cardiac arrest. Luckily my quick thinking 7 year old nephew ran and got a neighbour who was able to perform CPR until the ambulances and air ambulance arrived. Before my mum could make it to the hospital, she had another cardiac arrest. Without my sister, nephew, neighbour or the ambulance and air ambulance team my mum would not be here today.
We can never fully show our gratitude towards the heroic individuals that helped that day but Maisy wanted to try.
Whilst discussing ways in which she could fundraise for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance, Maisy came up with the idea of a head shave.
In 2013, her Auntie Sam had also shaved her head for charity and now Maisy is determined to beat the amount she raised.
If you're in a position where you are able to donate then please click the link below if not, please share this post.
Maisy never fails to amaze me with her kind heart and empathy for others.
The head shave will take place on 6th, 2.30pm at Meadowcroft community centre. She will also be selling her handmade bracelets with all proceeds going to the charity. Kai will be selling cupcakes and sweet cones. Their aim is to raise at least £500 for the charity and i really hope they can smash that. Thank you for reading 💕💕
Wiltshire Air Ambulance is a charity that provides an essential Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) across Wiltshire, Bath and surrounding areas. It needs to raise £4.5m a year to continue saving lives, but is not directly funded by the Government and receives no National Lottery funding, so relies on generous public donations.
