I can honestly say I wish I wasn’t making this page for the reason I’m making it, I wish my beautiful, kind, wonderful sister-in-law/best friend were still with us, but on 10 June 2024, she was cruelly and tragically taken from us after a very short, but extremely heroic battle with cancer.

We are still coming to terms with the fact she has gone, that she will not be here to see her young children grow up and that we have been robbed of so much. Our lives will truly never be the same again.

But devastatingly I know our family is not alone feeling this grief and pain. In actual fact, my family alone has lost 5 family members, including Sarah, to cancer in the last 18 months and I know so many of you have also had your lives impacted by this awful disease.

Cancer is evil. This is why I am doing something I said I would never do again - run a marathon. But not just any marathon, but one of the best marathon routes in the world - London.

Some of you who know me well will say ‘but you are a runner, you will smash it’ - I can promise you that whilst I like to do regular runs to help both my mental and physical health, a marathon is well out of my comfort zone. This is going to be tough, really tough. But with Sarah in my heart and mind - I will do this and will raise vital funds into life saving research.

Sarah has left a lifelong impact on my life and I would love to make her proud. She was one of my biggest cheerleaders, so I know she will be with me every step of the way.
