Fred Whitton Challenge 2024

Fred Whitton Challenge 2024 · 12 May 2024 ·
Simon, Oliver & David are taking part in the Fred Whitton Challenge on Sunday 12 May 2024 to raise funds for the Great North Air Ambulance Service.
The Fred Whitton Challenge consists of a 112-mile sportive around the Lake District, starting at Grasmere and taking in climbs of Kirkstone, Honister, Newlands, Whinlatter, Hardknott, Wrynose and Blea Tarn passes.
The Great North Air Ambulance Service rescues hundreds of severely injured or ill patients every year throughout the North East, North Yorkshire and Cumbria. Their doctor-led critical care teams deliver life-saving treatment at the scene of the incident, whether that is on a fell top, a roadside or in a city centre.
In June 2022 Oliver’s grandad sustained multiple trauma including a severe head injury following a fall from his roof. GNAAS provided critical care support in his garden and then airlifted him to RPH. His grandad spent almost 3 months in hospital but is now at home living a normal life. Thanks to NWAS and the amazing work of GNAAS his grandad Alex Alty survived these horrific injuries. Oli, Simon and David are cycling this super tough ride to raise money for the fabulous work they do.
