Story
When bad things happen - divorce, skyrocketing inflation, illness, job loss.... it's difficult to prepare for the unexpected, and many times bellies go hungry.
In 2010, I became a single mom working 4 jobs to keep our home and try to keep some semblance of normalcy for my kids. Luckily, my kids were older - but there were times, especially after my now ex lost his job, that we all needed a little extra help. Our situation was a little scary, but my primary job involved working with homeless families and I saw first-hand how just one or two "bad things" could happen and result in loss of housing, burning through that last line of credit just to put gas in the car you were sleeping in and buy food for those hungry tummies. With today's economy, and rising rents I can't even imagine how families are keeping up with basic necessetiies. That is why I wanted my brokerage to participate in not only supporting the food pantries for Williamson County through the WCAOR Annual Food Drive, but also to raise money to help hungry familieis throughout the many counties in Central Texas. Because ONE dollar provides EIGHT POUNDS of food, I feel it's really important to promote and support this effort monetarily.
My team goal is $1,000 by July 28th. By making your donation through the CTX Food Bank, you will receive a tax donation letter, to help you out with Uncle Sam next April! Please help keep our community food pantries stocked so they can help families and prevent kids from going to bed hungry!
Every donation matters and every dollar helps. Donate today
