Rich Horton’s fundraiser for Breakthrough T1D

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 · Start fundraising for this event
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I’m running the London Marathon for my Son and everyone living with type 1 Diabetes.
In September, our world changed forever. My brave 4-year-old son was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. In the space of a few hours, our little boy went from being carefree to facing a lifetime of blood sugar checks, insulin injections, and constant monitoring.
In his own words, he just wants a cure so he can be “normal like the rest of my family.” And as parents, we would give anything to make that happen. But until that day comes, we want to do everything we can to support him and the millions of others living with this condition.
That’s why I’m running the London Marathon—26.2 miles of sweat, pain, and determination—all in the hope of raising as much money as possible for Breakthrough T1D, which funds vital research and support for people with Type 1 Diabetes.
We are still coming to terms with this diagnosis, learning every day how to navigate this new reality. But one thing we do know is that nobody should have to do this alone. Your donation, no matter how big or small, could help fund breakthroughs in treatment, better technology, and ultimately, a cure.
If you can, please donate. Do it for my son. Do it for every child, parent, and family affected by Type 1 Diabetes. Do it so that one day, no one will have to hear the words, “Your child has diabetes.”
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts.
