Story
So out of some things you’d rather not have or experience comes some great things…. We are sure this will be one of those for us and many of our family and friends! I have been overwhelmed by people’s support and generosity but as you know I’ve wanted you to save your money rather than send me gifts so here it is!
As many of you know in December I had a mastectomy for breast cancer. Now I’m lucky enough to be able to have some chemotherapy and radiotherapy and some other stuff to make sure I’m healthy for many years to come. One of the reasons I’m in this privileged position is that I had super efficient, effective world class timely care from Mr Johnson and his team at the Nightingale Centre at Wythenshawe hospital. We can’t thank them enough. I really have received the highest class care.
This journey has been further enhanced by The Christie at Macclesfield as they take over for the next step!
To try and show some appreciation for the care we have received and in line with the team at Wythenshawe, we are fundraising for Prevent Breast Cancer. The Charity, based at the Nightingdale Centre is dedicated to the prediction and prevention of breast cancer.
For our fundraising Ian is is aiming to run 2024km in 2024! He is already well on the way at over 400 km so far. The kids are also chipping in with this either adding extra km on bikes or running themselves! Ian will be slip sliding in the mud up hills and down hills with the dog daily and I’ve also got my trainers back on so will hopefully add some miles on top! We’ll plan to do some group runs with family and friends and do some events throughout the year.
Anyway if you’d like to sponsor this amazing charity then please sponsor “Ray Runs.”
