Story
In early 2023, my father in law, Gerry was admitted to the Marie Curie Hospice, Glasgow after a long and hard fought battle with cancer.
In his memory, I plan to spend 8 days in the wilderness of nothern Sweden as part of a team challenging ourselves with activities including snow mobile driving, ice fishing, husky sledging , skiing and living off grid in a remote cabin in the woods and spending a few nights in a snow hole which we will hand dig 😯 🥶 with temperatures at -30 degrees this will prove to be a test.
Marie Curie Glasgow Hospice supports people living with a terminal illness and those closest to them to live as well as possible despite the incredible challenges they face.
The Hospice is often very different from what people expect. It is a warm, friendly space with beautiful gardens, delicious home-cooked food and personalised care. Every person is treated as an individual and helped to reach their goals and fulfil their wishes. A team of nurses, doctors, social workers, physiotherapists, chaplains, bereavement counsellors and pharmacists work together, putting every person at the centre of their care.
I would be very grateful if you could support me as Marie Curie centres can't do any of this without your support. Thank you for your generous donation, which supports the Glasgow Hospice and Marie Curie across the UK.
