How are you fundraising for Myton?

We will be fundraising through our on-air broadcasts and appearances on campus. For our charity initiatives, we take part in overnight broadcasts, during which our presenters face challenges and dares from the listeners in exchange for donations. From karaoke to leg-waxing, there’s a lot of room to make us do silly things. On campus we always make some noise and we will continue our dares and challenges in this much more public setting.

Why have you decided to fundraise for Myton?

Access to hospice care is something that our members feel close to, as it allows as many people as possible to live as comfortably as possible. We love engaging with local charities as a community radio station and we hope we can bring a great benefit to the charity and raise awareness within a massive student body about Myton Hospices. Our job as a station is to entertain, and we hope our fundraising programming will make for good listening for a great cause.

What are you looking forward to most about your fundraising and what will be the biggest challenge?

The work we do during our charity initiatives brings us together, we are hoping to smash our target of £1251! To have so many hard workers invested in the same goal is amazing and there is always an inspiring sense of camaraderie throughout the week. Our overnight broadcasts are undoubtedly our biggest challenge, staying awake through the onslaught of dares and donations is difficult, but we always have a lot of fun!
