We provide support and deliver awareness to improve quality of life and inclusion

Story

Hey there, I am Ravenna, I am a mother to two children with Tourette Syndrome and a partner to a Ticcer too.

I am The Chair of Trustees of TiC (Tourettes Syndrome inclusion in the community) Hull, Lincolnshire and Yorkshire.

This charity has helped us as service users for almost a decade, we provide support, help, advice, youth groups, monthly meets, days out, trips away, and alsorts more. They make a mean hotdog and give great hugs 💙

People With Tourettes Syndrome do not have an easy life or have safe places often, and The Hub is that safe place, with people that care, unfortunately funding is hard, fundraising bids are not enough on its own and we need to raise capital to keep the fantastic support ongoing :)

So I have decided to Brave the Shave! 2nd June 2024 at the Hub during a Sunday Monthly Social my long hair is being shaved and live streamed (so you can all laugh at/with me) hide my chins!!! This will make me very uncomfortable as my hair is my safe space, I hide behind it, thus leaving me open to ridicule and uncomfortableness in the wider community just like our service users experience daily, my hair will grow back, their experience never ends.

Please donate :) please help even if its a little bit 💙 Love to all.

My hair is being donated to the little princess trust as well.

Two charity wins :)

TIC (Tourettes-Syndrome Inclusion in the Community) supports people in Hull and Yorkshire who are affected by Tourettes Syndrome. Tourettes Syndrome is a neurological condition that affects 1 in 100 school children and is lifelong. we provide support groups for our members, and deliver awareness talks to schools and other organisations. we aim to reduce social exclusion and stigma associated with the condition locally. We have only being running for a little over a year but aim to provide future workshops and training in order to promote self-help.
