Story
On Saturday 20th July, I will hosting a charity challenge stream to raise funds for Beat, the UK's eating disorder charity.
We've done a number of charity challenge streams now so this year, I want to really challenge myself with the longest stream that we've ever done - a full 24-hour stream!!
As with all of our charity streams, we're aiming to beat as many games as we possibly can across the length of the stream, but this time I wanted to add a bit of an interactive twist for donations....
We are going to be playing games which are found on the Nintendo Switch Online retro games collection (NES, SNES, GB, GBA, N64 & Sega Mega Drive / Genesis) and will try beat as many games as we can across the 24-hours.
However, the BIG twist is - donations will decide the games we play!! (Game list here - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/11JXl-LcX74lBLGT8B89tAbbQUihcgmVrx4eBKuEFydk/edit?usp=sharing )
For example, if someone donates £10 to our cause, they can choose ANY game from the Nintendo Switch Online catalogue and we'll play it for 10 minutes (a.k.a. minutes = the number donated!).
If we have multiple donations, we'll have a playlist that will stockpile, meaning we can move onto new games once the previous chosen game's time has run out!!
Excited to see what we end up playing and if we can beat anything across the stream!!

Beat supports anyone with an eating disorder, their friends and family, as well as professionals working with or worried about an individual in their care.
These serious mental illnesses include anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and binge eating disorder. 1.25 million people in the UK have a diagnosed eating disorder. They affect people of all ages and backgrounds, and up to one in four sufferers are male. Eating disorders cost the UK's economy £16.8 billion each year.
In advance, thank you to everyone for supporting me during this charity challenge - let's BEAT our fundraising goal!
In May alone, they were able to answer 441 calls, 778 emails, 639 web chats and provide 464 support sessions for their online groups
· £15 enables them to exchange emails with someone with an eating disorder, guiding them on their recovery journey
· £25 pays for them to answer a Helpline call from someone who feels they have nowhere to turn.
· £69 enables them to run an online peer support group for people to share their experiences and feel understood
· £100 means they can provide webchat support to four young people, helping them take their first steps towards recovery.
As someone who struggled with an eating disorder for decades of their life, your support means the world to me in raising money for this vital cause.
