Story
It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather, Rameshchandra Patel on 21 December 2023.
He was a pillar of not only our family but also his local community in Brent, where he resided for over 50 years. A life devoted to helping others he was truly one of a kind.
He will be sorely missed by his children Mahesh and Sheila, grandchildren Karis, Sachin, Pritesh and Leena, and great grandchildren Yash and Luca.
This has been a difficult year for our family, with our mother and grandmother, Bhanuben Patel also passing on 22 June 2023. Alongside Ramesh, she was the heart and soul of our family.
Both were severely impacted in their later lives by different forms of dementia. This unfortunately impacted their quality of life and resulted in the loss of their independence as individuals. The disease remains incurable and issues around the quality of elderly life impacts many individuals and families across Brent and in the UK.
As a Councillor, Mayor and supporter of his local Gujrati community, Ramesh spent over 25 years supporting the families who needed care within Brent, and within his Queensbury ward.
In his memory, we would like to support those who aim to help families, with elderly relatives, in particular throughout Brent. As an independent local charity, Age UK Hillingdon, Harrow, and Brent relies on outside support and donations to support the most vulnerable, helping them to stay independent, safe, healthy, active and help with isolation as well as loneliness.
Their mission is to make life better for older people, as everyone should have someone to turn to. Any donation you can give would very much be appreciated.
Many thanks,
Mahesh, Sheila, Karis, Sachin, Pritesh, Leena, Yash & Luca
