Strongest Lady I know, Cancer Survivor, who I am proud to call my Mother.
Like any woman, my mum followed regular procedure for breast cancer screening for detection of any abnormalities, lumps or pain. On her last screening in January 2018, she felt pain on her right breast and doctors immediately recommended her for Mammogram for further investigation.
After the mammogram, she finally got her results which changed her whole world and shattered her confidence. Her mind went blank and due to the sudden shock/news her blood pressure shot up extremely high.
She got diagnosed for Breast Cancer in February 2018. NHS Cancer team embraced her, calmed her down, motivated her to be positive and ensured her that the cancer was caught in time and would be curable. They recommended she should go for further tests as soon as possible.
Also a Type 2 diabetic (on Insulin) and having high blood pressure. Doctors could not operate straight away to remove the cancer. Doctors had recommended her to go through some further tests to control her blood pressures, after which they will inform her when the operation will take place.
Due to the proactive approach from the doctors her cancer was detected at an early stage. She agreed to go ahead with the operation in March 2018 at Walsall Manor Hospital, which was successful.
After the operation her lymph nodes came back negative and she was not required to go through chemo. She came home and we saw her smiling face after 2 months of sadness, stress and anxiety.
She was finally on the road to recovery and on medication for 5 years as well as going for screening every year for the next 5 years.
After 5 years of hell, stress, weight gain, she is finally BREAST CANCER FREE in April 2023. Finally her life started to become normal after such an ordeal. She encourages everyone to get regular screenings. If you feel pain in your breast, feel lumps, redness on nipples immediately go to consult your doctor.
She got out of her comfort zone and was thinking for a long time about how to thank all the staff behind her great recovery and good health and to raise funds for Breast Cancer charity. All the hospital staff, Doctors, Nurses, Receptionist, pharmacists, cleaners were really helpful during this hard time and gave their best support to her for quick recovery from this life changing disease.
This inspired me to do something different for this life saving cause to give it back as a thank you to help and support her in difficult times.
I have decided to add my passion for collecting running medals onto some crazy challenges to help out to raise awareness and for those who still suffering from Breast Cancer and pray for there rapid recovery phase.

Why for Breast Cancer Now?
I have decided to support Breast Cancer Now and raise awareness, so no other person suffers the same as my mother did. It’s always best to detect earlier then late.
That’s the best way give it back to them for all the help and support they provided during her hard time and suffering for more than 5 years.
Breast Cancer Now is the UK’s largest breast cancer charity – formed by the merger of Breast Cancer Care and Breast Cancer Now. Our research and care provide support for today and hope for the future.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK. One in seven women will face it in their lifetime. Nearly 700,000 people living in the UK have experienced a diagnosis.
Around 55,000 women and 400 men are diagnosed with breast cancer each year in the UK. And unfortunately, these numbers are set to rise. We want fewer people to be diagnosed with breast cancer. For the ones that do, we want them to have the very best chance of survival thanks to an early diagnosis.
How your donations will helps?
Your donation will help to make sure the world-class research taking place in our labs and the life-changing care and support we provide to those who so desperately need it continues.
If we act now, we can create a future where everyone who develops breast cancer lives – and is supported to live well.
£10
donations could buy essential lab equipment for our researchers. This could be tubes for freezing cells for future experiments, or bags of test tubes and flasks for growing the cancer cells that our scientists will experiment on.
£30

£225

£500
could pay for 5 people to go to living with secondary Breast Cancer. These group sessions are a space for peopleand incurable secondary Breast Cancer. They’ll get expert information and meet other people going through the same.
