Story
Our neighbor Harri was born just before our son Rafe but unfortunately suffered a Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy event at birth which left him with multiple organ failure.
Harri gradually recovered but was left with a severe brain injury. He was later diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, Global Development Delay and Epilepsy.
He has spasticity in all his limbs and his gross motor functions are severely impaired making it extremely challenging for him to use normal movement patterns. This causes him to walk on tip toes and results in issues with his balance and coordination, making him fall frequently.
Harri requires life changing SDR surgery to permanently remove the spasticity in his legs which currently impacts his daily life and makes it challenging to keep him safe both at home and at school.
Rafe & Harri are great friends and Rafe has asked if he can do a sponsored cycle ride, being nearly 7 has not stopped Rafe wanting to go as far as possible & is aiming to cycle from Hengistbury Head to Sandbanks (15km) the length of Bournemouth Bay to help his friend out. Weather dependent the aim is to do this in the 24th of September once cycling is allowed along the whole promenade.
Help us by sponsoring Rafe, to help change Harri’s life forever.
