Story

My dad, a groundbreaking scientist during his working life, has been recently diagnosed with dementia and I am keen to raise what I can for Dementia UK.

As a professional dog walker, 100km (62 miles) over a month isn't a huge challenge for me so I'd like to invite friends and clients to join me for a dog walk and in taking part in the March Dog Walking Challenge to support families facing dementia.

Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nurse charity. Our nurses, called Admiral Nurses, provide life-changing care to families affected by all forms of dementia, including Alzheimers disease. They help people with dementia stay independent for longer, and support the people caring for them so they have the strength to cope with the bad days, and the energy to enjoy the good days. They have the time to listen and the knowledge to solve problems, helping families take back control when they are struggling.
