Heart of Headland Boxes

Fundraising for Royal Cornwall Hospitals Charity
£125
raised
In memory of Robin Griffiths
Heart of Headland Boxes will provide patients at Royal Cornwall Hospital, who are about to embark on chemo or immunotherapy, with a selection of items to help them through their treatment.

Story

When Robin was undergoing chemo for a non cancer related illness, he received one of these boxes and was really touched by the thoughtful items in his box. Robin was always someone who noticed when others needed something and he loved to give gifts to bless them. He would have loved to give to this charity to help others who are going through a hard time. So rather than flowers why not give to this amazing local charity?

This is a message from the Heart for Headland explaining the boxes.:

The news that you have Cancer and will be embarking on chemo or immunotherapy can be devastating and overwhelming to our patients.

We want to make those patients feel cared for beyond the medical treatment that they receive, and we hope that you will join us in our mission. Royal Cornwall Hospitals Charity are working in partnership with Cancer Services at Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust to launch a special project to provide Heart of Headland Boxes to patients receiving Chemo and Immunotherapy at our hospitals.

The boxes will contain items such as a thermometer, pill pots to organise their medications, hand creams, cotton hats, relaxation products, ginger tea, sucking boiled sweets, using a soft toothbrush, keeping hydrated, using simple products, bringing items to the unit to keep them occupied.
