Story
We are raising money for Twins Trust to help them with the vital work they do in supporting families of twins and multiples.
Ben & Ruairi were lucky that they were born relatively healthy and only spent one week in neo-natal. Despite being some of the biggest babies in the special care baby unit, they spent time in an incubator and were tube feed for days due to being born at 36 weeks. Many twins and triplets are born very premature and need lots of support to survive.
Parents of twins also experience many challenges and as amazing as it can be to be a parent of twins, it can also be isolating and overwhelming. The Twins Trust helps families in so many ways including changing hospital policies and campaigning to change legislation to make life fairer and more manageable for families of multiples.
Everything is different when you’re expecting twins or multiples from the pregnancy, birth and beyond.
During pregnancy, the Twins Trust supported us with specialist ante-natal education specially tailored to parents expecting twins, triplets or more. We have also attended their free workshops on dealing with various challenges of having twins.
We are going to skip for one hour non-stop to raise money for Twins Trust. Callum has some skills in the skipping department thankfully, Finlay has learned to skip, Ben & Ru will have a bash and I will maybe get a few minutes in!
Thanks for your sponsorship and look out for the video and photo updates coming!
