This year, not only am I running the Great North Run on the Sunday my wonderful daughter Jessica is running the Mini Great North Run on the Saturday morning in memory of her amazing Grandad.

Within a 5 year period we as a family have needed this amazing charity twice !!

On the 9th Jessie is running the mini Great north and on 10th September I am running the Great North run in memory of our amazing Dad/Grandad Colin Sale. In February 2016 he died in an accident at work in which the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire air ambulance attended the scene. This is an amazing charity and no one knows when they might need their help.

Also, I am running to give thanks to the amazing work that they did for My Aunty, 3 days after the Great north Run in 2021. (coming soon to 24hrs in A&E)

She had been involved in a hit and run. The came to her aid in the critical care car and stayed with her all the way to Queens Medical Centre Nottingham.

The Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance is one of the UK’s leading Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) Charities, funded purely by the generosity of people like you! They are not part of the NHS and not funded by the Government.

At a time when every second counts, the arrival of the iconic yellow helicopter really can mean the difference between life and death.

The Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance transport the equivalent of an A&E department to people suffering from the most serious of illnesses and devastating injuries, providing the best possible treatment as quickly as possible.

As a Charity, they need to raise approximately £8million a year to fund our 24-hour operations.

Examples it costs

£5 could buy an airway for a baby to help them breathe

£10 could help to buy specialist trauma dressings and bandages

£20 could help buy a soft torniquet to stop life threatening bleeding.

£50 could buy a single-use ventilator circuit that provides oxygen when a patient has been anaesthetised
