Story

I am taking part in a skydive day on Saturday 28th September 2024 in aid of East Anglia's Children's Hospices. EACH cares for children and young people with life-threatening conditions across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk and support their families.

Why you wonder ? Well EACH cared for an incredible little boy George, of whom I had the privilege meeting and of being the TA to in September 2023, despite the tumour progressing, the cancer spreading and high doses of pain medication, George joined us for his first day of school, eager and ready to learn.

In his short time with us George introduced us to a world of Mr Men, Lego and space. He shared love and gained friends wherever he went.

George changed the definition of brave for me. At almost 50 years of age I was yet to understand it's true meaning. I therefore feel doing a skydive seems fitting as it's a way for me to show bravery for him.

George and his wonderful family were wrapped in love from EACH during George's treatment, final days and continue to be supported now since his passing.

I therefore hold this charity close to my heart and ask for you to sponsor as much as you can. In the hope that families who face this unimaginable turmoil can too be wrapped in the love of the EACH family.

The key services which they provide includes: specialist nursing care, symptom management nursing, short breaks, wellbeing activities, therapies and counselling; all meeting the individual needs of the child, young person and whole family.

£200- could pay for a Community Nursing Pack to provide essential equipment to deliver care in family home or elsewhere in the community.

£600- could pay for a Clinical Nurse Specialist for the week to provide expert nursing care to children and young people with life-threatening conditions.

£1,100- could pay for five sessions of Hydrotherapy which can help to relieve pain and relax muscles.

For families accessing care and those who have been bereaved, EACH is a lifeline at an unimaginably difficult time. When time is short, EACH helps families make the most of their precious time together and create memories that last forever. Thank you for supporting EACH by donating to my page.
