Story
Thanks for visiting my page. I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation and I'd be so grateful for your support.
I am running my first (and last!) London Marathon in memory of Julian Bailey. It has always been an ambition of mine to run the London Marathon and have applied for the past 5 years. It seems fitting that this is the year that I have secured a place and with the BHF, a cause close to our hearts.
In December last year, my father-in-law died suddenly from a cardiac arrest at home. He was a such a wonderful human being who, even though he would moan, he'd do anything for anyone! He had a heart of gold, a smile and a laugh that would make anyone turn round and he is missed so much. He loved to tell a story and make us laugh. Such a sudden death, of a fit and healthy man has absolutely torn our family apart and I hope that by raising money to help fund research into heart diseases will allow The British Heart Foundation to continue with their amazing research and work to prevent needless deaths like Julian's.
The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target. Thanks!
