Story
100 miles for 100 days. To round off Rhys’s last 100 days of treatment, Sam and I will be doing the CARTEN100 on Saturday 11th May 2024. It’s a 100 mile cycle ride between Cardiff and Tenby and I think I should be more daunted than I am but after seeing Rhys endure 1,220 days of treatment it’s hard to be that intimidated by any big challenge. If I equate it to Rhys’s treatment it works out as less than 0.1 of a mile for every day of treatment. We’ll be fundraising for Noah’s Ark Children Hospital in Cardiff where Rhys has been treated. To be honest I’m more worried about the logistics of childcare, getting our bikes serviced in time and ensuring I’ve got enough snacks to last the whole way than the physical endurance such a long ride requires. Foolhardy possibly but Rhys didn’t get a choice of what he had to endure.
The Noah's Ark Children's Hospital Charity ensures that treatment and outcomes for children can continue to improve by funding new and innovative medical equipment and facilities. They support children and families in the here and now through their emotional support service and the much loved play specialist team and they invest in the future by providing technology that helps train the bright clinicians of tomorrow. They also strive to make the hospital a less frightening and more familiar place for children by sprinkling a little fun and happiness into hospital days.
Thank you so much for supporting our efforts and the Noah's Ark Children's Hospital Charity.
