When I joined Staffs Police a few years ago I was informed that my shift would become my ‘force family’. Cynical me thought, ‘Yeah right, it’s just a job’.

I couldn’t have been more wrong. It isn’t. And they are my family. My blue light family. I wanted to do this to raise a few pennies for my extended blue light family beyond Staffs.

And, if you know me, you know how much I love a challenge. Hoping the old back holds up after the surgery!

A bit about COPS and the tour below ⬇️

Since its foundation in 2003, COPS has helped hundreds of police families devastated by the loss of a loved one who died on duty.

COPS provides peer support opportunities and access to counselling services to help surviving family members (‘survivors’) rebuild their lives.

The Police Unity Tour is a long-distance cycle ride undertaken by hundreds of police officers (and staff) across the UK, to raise awareness and funds for Care of Police Survivors.
