Story
As most of you know it will be four years on the 3rd July since Lara grew her Angel Wings. This is a tragedy that no parent should ever have to go through but with the help and support of the lullaby trust we continue our forever journey with this charity by our side.
Whilst on holiday in Greece in 2019 we woke to find Lara unresponsive and after two post-mortems we still have no answers as to why this happened to a perfectly healthy 15 week old baby.
My Boss and a good friend of mine will be jumping out of a plane on the 3rd July to raise money for the lullaby trust so we can continue to support other families. So please donate anything you can 🙏
The Lullaby Trust is a charity that saves babies’ lives and supports bereaved families. Around 4 babies a week still die from sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) and we are committed to bringing that number down to zero.Through educating parents on how they can reduce the risk of SIDS and investing over £12 million in research, we have played a key role in reducing the number of babies who die from SIDS by 80%, saving the lives of more than 20,000 babies. Each year we train thousands of health professionals to support parents in sleeping their baby safely, and reach millions of families with our vital safer sleep advice. We campaign tirelessly to raise awareness of SIDS and ensure our life saving advice reaches all parents. The Lullaby Trust supports bereaved families, through our helpline and befriending scheme. We work with local healthcare providers to deliver the Care of Next Infant Programme (CONI) which offers a lifeline to bereaved families expecting a new baby.
£16 could pay for 5 families to receive a copy of our 'Safer Sleep for Babies Guide for Parents', containing advice on how you can sleep your baby more safely to reduce the risk of SIDS.
£22 could pay for our bereavement helpline to provide advice and support to a first-time caller. Our support service is available whether people are newly bereaved or the bereavement was many years ago.
£32 could pay to train a health professional in safer sleep advice about how to reduce the risk of SIDS, which they can pass on directly to the hundreds of parents they work with.
£45 could pay for a support package to be sent to 5 bereaved families, giving advice, sharing experiences from other bereaved parents and signposting to where they can get further support.
£68 could pay to train a bereaved parent or family member to become a Lullaby Trust Befriender, offering specialist support to other families who have experienced the death of a baby or young child.
£104 could pay for a mattress monitor to support a bereaved family on our Care of Next Infant programme, helping to reduce anxiety and allowing them to enjoy the first year of their baby’s life
