We enhance NHS services and improve care to benefit users of South Tees Hospitals

Story

Thanks to your generous donations we are able to enhance patient care and the wellbeing of our incredible NHS staff by funding initiatives over and above what the NHS would routinely provide.

We are raising funds to support the amazing NHS Audiology department who are currently supporting our son Jake with his hearing journey.

Following a serious assault in Newcastle City Centre at the end of October 2023, Jake sustained serious fractures to his skull which destroyed his hearing organs. The injuries left Jake profoundly deaf in both ears.

Jake's life changed overnight, but with the support and expertise of the incredible Audiology team, he was fast tracked for a cochlear implant. The implant and switch on has been a game changer for him. He plans to return to complete his final year of study at Northumbria University this September.

This is our way of thanking everyone involved in Jake's care and to raise awareness of the fact that anyone, at any time could be faced with losing their hearing. This is why the NHS its staff, services and support is vital and needs protected.
