My younger brother Simon is one of eleven profoundly disabled residents of Bevern View, and he is also uncle and godfather to my daughter Annabel (4 years old). Simon moving to Bevern View has been life-changing for him - he has benefitted from so many opportunities and experiences that he wouldn't otherwise have been able to take part in, as well as the excellent facilities on site. The staff are friendly and supportive and have become his friends - we are so pleased he has settled in well and is happy living at Bevern.
For The Bevern Trust, a minibus is more than just a set of wheels – it’s the vehicle that helps provide freedom, adventure and opportunity for the eleven profoundly disabled residents of Bevern View. A wheelchair accessible minibus is a vital resource to enable the residents to access essential services and appointments, visit friends and family or go on trips to local attractions and parks.
I have decided to undertake a personal challenge this year to help raise these important funds for the Bevern Trust. I will be running the Maidstone Half Marathon on 22nd October (and I’m hoping Simon might be able to come along and support me!). I was much fitter before I had my daughter Annabel than I am now, and finding the time to train can be difficult for busy working mums! However I completed the London Winter Run (10km) in February and the Folkestone 10 mile race in April, and with some more training between now and October I am up for the challenge!
I’d love you to join with me to help raise funds to provide this amazing resource for Bevern. You can make a real difference in helping these residents achieve more from life! With a final target of £50,000, your support in sponsoring my half marathon will be so valuable. Thank you!
