We support kidney patients to ensure no one faces kidney disease alone

Story

We have entered a team into the Belfast Marathon Team Relay, and we will be completing the 26 mile run on Sunday 5th May 2024. We are running to raise funds in support of Kidney Care UK, in memory of our friend Kurtis Robinson.

Team - Alan Wray, Bradley Lewis, Jamie Elliott, Matt Floyd, Bradley Dodds.

The team have been inspired to enter the marathon by our close friend Kurtis Robinson. Kurtis is a 32 year old firefighter, he is husband to Natalie and father to 1 year old Benny.

In October 2023 Kurtis suffered a heart attack and he required continual hospital treatment. The heart attack was attributed to a problem with his kidneys.

Tragically after a long and brave battle, Kurtis passed away on 25th February 2024.

Whilst in hospital, Kurtis was visited by Kidney Care UK, the UK’s leading kidney patient support charity. He found their visit to be very beneficial, encouraging and supportive. Both Kurtis and Natalie were very grateful for the support offered by the charity.

Given Kurtis’ personal connection with Kidney Care UK, the team want to do what we can to support the charity, and in doing so remember our friend.

With your help, we aim to raise funds to contribute to the amazing work of Kidney Care UK, who continue to make a massive difference to the lives of kidney patients and their families.
