Story

We're raising £1,500 to buy equipment for our Birth Centre @Queens Hospital Romford for women & their families to be relaxed & comfortable when giving birth.

We are a dedicated group of midwives working at the Birth Centre at Queen’s Hospital, where every day, we have the privilege of supporting women through one of the most significant moments of their lives. We see firsthand the difference that a calming, supportive environment can make during labour and birth. That’s why we’re coming together to run a Tough Mudder—to raise funds that will directly improve the birthing experience for the women we care for.

At the Birth Centre, our goal is to create a space where women feel empowered, safe, and comfortable. We know that the right environment can transform a birth experience, helping women feel more in control and at peace. However, to make this a reality, we need your help.

We’re aiming to raise funds for essential items that can significantly enhance the birthing environment. With your support, we hope to purchase equipment such as ambient lighting to create a soothing atmosphere, birthing balls to aid in labour, music systems for personalised soundtracks, and aromatherapy diffusers for relaxation. These small touches can make a world of difference in helping women have the positive, memorable birth experience they deserve.

Taking on the challenge of a Tough Mudder won’t be easy, but it’s nothing compared to the strength and determination we see in the women who walk through our doors every day. We’re doing this because we believe every woman deserves the best possible birthing experience, and we’re willing to get muddy to make that happen!

Please consider supporting our cause. Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of the women and families in our community.
