Story

Over the August Bank holiday Stuart and Liza will be aiming to run more than a marathon distance along the Grand Union visiting several marinas and brokers we work with.

The plan is to start from Aquavista, Crick running north to ABNB, North Kilsworth and back to Crick. The following day we will start from Crick and run south to Whilton Marina and Braunston Marina before returning to Crick. This is a total of 47miles which is certainly challenging but at least it is flat.

Promarine finance a lot of boats on the inland network and we want to contribute to help to keep canals alive.

Almost nine million people live less than a mile from one of the Canal & River Trusts waterways, making them popular and accessible places to exercise. But the nation's ageing canals are under threat, with costly repairs required to keep them open for the communities who enjoy them and for the wildlife that depends on them.

Together we can help nature flourish, protect the heritage of our canals in the face of climate change and deliver health, happiness and wellbeing to millions of people.
