Story
24 Peaks:
A team of 10 employees from Price Bailey will be tackling the 24 peaks.
This walking challenge is to climb the 24 peaks of over 2,400ft in a lapsed time of 24 hours over two days. Set in the stunning Lake District the trek will take us over some of the national park’s highest peaks where we will encounter difficult terrain, steep scrambling ascents and lengthy challenging descents which promises to push teamwork, strength, stamina and mental resolve to the limit.
Each peak climbed will represent a vital hour of support provided each and every day of the year by the Samaritans.
Over the two days, with limited recovery time, we will climb over 13,600ft (which is nearly half the height of Mount Everest!) and of course what goes up must also come down.
A full list of the peaks we will climb are:-
Day 1: Red Pike (2,477ft), High Stile (2,644ft), High Crag (2,442ft), Green Gable (2,628ft), Great Gable (2,949ft), Scarfell Pike (3,209ft), Broad Crag (3,064ft), Great End (2,986ft), Esk Pike (2,904ft) Bowfell (2,959ft).
Day 2: Red Screes (2,546ft), Dove Crag (2,598ft), Hart Crag (2,687ft), Fairfield (2,864ft), Seat Sandal (2,415ft) Dollywagon Pike (2,815ft), Nevermost Pike (2,923ft), Helvellyn (3,114ft), Lower Man (3,035ft), Whiteside (2,831ft) Raise (2,897ft), Stybarrow Dodd (2,766ft), Watson’s Dodd (2,589ft), Great Dodd (2,812ft).
Why?
Every step we take and pound we raise could help train more volunteers, answer more calls for help and, ultimately, save lives.
Samaritans has recently become our chosen charity within Price Bailey and will match any amount donated up to £25,000 throughout the year.
We believe in tomorrow and together we can save lives.
More about Samaritans will be detailed below on the page if you'd like to learn more about the charity and the services they provide.
