Story

15 Brave Souls, 10,000 Feet – All for a World Without Dementia

We are the passionate team at Potter House Care Home, a residential and dementia care home in Yeovil, where every day we support amazing individuals living with dementia. Our mission is to empower our residents, promote independence, and provide compassionate care — but now, we’re taking that mission to new heights. Literally.

15 members of our team are jumping 10,000 feet from a plane to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society!

Yes, you read that right — we’re taking the leap (with parachutes!) to help raise awareness and vital funds for dementia research, care, and support. Because we see firsthand the challenges dementia brings, and we know how much more needs to be done — for those living with dementia now, and for future generations.

We’re doing this because:

🧠 Dementia is the UK’s biggest killer

❤️ Every 3 minutes, someone develops dementia

🌍 Until there's a cure, we believe in creating a society where those affected are supported, accepted, and never alone

Your support means the world to us. Every donation brings us closer to a cure and helps ensure that people living with dementia can continue to live with dignity, understanding, and community.

Please sponsor our skydive and help us make a difference from 10,000 feet in the sky, all the way back down to the people we care for on the ground.

Let’s do this — for a future without dementia.

With love and gratitude,

The Potter House Care Home Team

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
