Julien Speyer is a native of Birmingham, Alabama where he attended Mountain Brook High School, and a graduate of Millsaps College where he received his Bachelor’s degree and MBA. Julien moved to Huntsville in late 2020 after marrying his college sweetheart, Portia Waite and is a Banking Advisor for PNC Private Banking. In addition to his professional career, Julien serves on multiple boards in the area, like the Huntsville Museum of Art Foundation Board and the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra Board of Trustees.

Marketing Director, Sentar Inc

Portia is the Marketing Director for Sentar, where she leads the company’s Marketing and Communications team. She is passionate about using marketing to create meaningful connections between brands and their customers. Portia’s team is responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies that increase brand awareness, drive sales, and build relationships with customers.

In addition to her marketing duties, Portia also leads Sentar’s community engagement and charitable initiatives. She is committed to giving back to the community and supports a variety of non-profits with her longest standing commitment being to the Huntsville Botanical Garden, where she’s enjoyed participating on the Advisory Board and contributing to Fresh From the Garden, Galaxy of Lights, and the Spring Hat Luncheon since 2017.

Portia holds a BA in Business Administration with concentrations in Global Studies and Entrepreneurship and an MBA from Millsaps College. Portia is a 2018 graduate of Leadership Huntsville’s Connect Program.

We support the Huntsville Botanical Garden Because of the amazing impact the Garden has on our local community. From the educational programs, events, and exhibits that teach visitors about gardening, science, and the environment to providing a home for native plants and animals, the Garden has something for everyone!
