We help people with ME/CFS to understand and survive their illness

Story

Hello, and thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I've set myself a challenging yet meaningful goal. I will be running a half marathon to raise funds for the ME Association, a cause very close to my heart. This endeavour is more than just a physical challenge; it's a personal mission to make a difference in the lives of those affected by Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME), also known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS).

My brother Freddie is one of the many people who suffer from this debilitating condition. His journey with ME has been incredibly tough; he has faced months of immobility and pain, which led to him being hospitalised for several weeks. Watching someone so close to me struggle without a cure has been heart breaking and has motivated me to take action.

The ME Association works tirelessly to support individuals and families affected by ME, advocating for research, treatment, and recognition of the condition. By fundraising through my half marathon, I hope not only to contribute financially to this vital cause but also to raise awareness about ME, a condition often misunderstood and overlooked.

Your support can make a real difference. Whether you can donate a little or a lot, every contribution counts. Together, we can offer hope, support, and visibility to those affected by ME. Let's stand with them and show that they are not alone in this fight.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness, generosity, and encouragement. Let's cross the finish line together, making every step count for those battling ME.

Lots of love,

Poppy xxxx

PS. Just a shoutout to mummy and daddy Denison-smiths for being outstanding parents throughout this horrible time 🥰

The ME Association campaigns hard to get ME recognised as a severe neurological illness. Our helpline provides essential information and support to adults and children who have ME/CFS, and to their families and carers. We also fund biomedical research into the physical nature and causes of ME/CFS.
