Story
This June, I’m going to lace up my running shoes and attempt the Chew Valley 10k in aid for Ripple Effect and the triple crisis appeal.
It’s been probably ten years since I last did a 10k and whilst I did have a period of Park Run obsession (proudly achieving my 100 milestone T-shirt!), after having my second child in 2018 I fell out of love with running. So I’m back at square one, attempting the couch to 5k and now committing to this 10k event in June. Eeek!
But I’ll be spurred on by the reason why I’m taking part. East Africa is in the worst hunger crisis for 40 years due to an unprecedented triple crisis - the ongoing effects of Covid, global cost of living increases and climate.
Donations will help Ripple Effect provide seeds, tools and training to rural communities.
