We support Neonatal Hemochromatosis babies to keep their families by their side.

Story

Back in January 2023, PMJ welcomed a new Office Manager, Kayleigh Taylor, to the team. With Kayleigh’s experience in previously running her own business and wealth of experience in payroll it was hoped that she would bring different skills to the team. Within a few weeks it was clear that she was a great addition.

Upon starting with PMJ we were aware that Kayleigh had quite a remarkable story to tell. Kayleigh had been a living liver donor, donating part of her liver to her friend’s newborn baby, Tommy.

Tommy was born with a rare liver disease, Neonatal Hemochromatosis, he was the most urgent case in the UK for a transplant, which went ahead when he was just 6 weeks old.

Having been able to spend time with Tommy, Kayleigh and Lauren, it’s clear to see there is a very special bond between them all. Tommy is now a thriving two year old and has recently taken his first steps.

After 6 months of working together, Kayleigh mentioned a desire to start a charity to support families of whom will go through the same torrid time that Tommy and his family did. Craig and Scott began to discuss ideas with Kayleigh and wanted to support in any way possible, a few months later Tommy’s Journey was started with Kayleigh and Tommy's Mum, Lauren.

Team PMJ have supported various children’s charities in the past, so it was an easy decision to support this wonderful charity for the duration of 2024.

Following a successful race night in February we wanted another event that everyone could get involved in.

We will be walking 20 miles from Bures to Clare, followed by an afternoon of fun for everyone to come along and join us as we return.

Your support in helping us to raise money and awareness of Neonatal Hemochromatosis is much appreciated.
