Story
Hi all! My name is Plum Riga and I recently graduated from Fordham University where I developed a real passion and love for social justice advocacy and the Jesuit mission. JVC is such a perfect next step because it allows me to contribute to change and a call to action based on the important values I have learned through my numerous years of Jesuit education.
Coming in August I have been placed as a Case Manager at the Friendship House for American Indians in San Francisco, CA. The Friendship House Association for American Indians is a center that is committed to a holistic approach to healing and recovery. The approach centers indigenous values, offering services and programs that meet the unique needs of the Native American demographic. The Friendship House integrates Western medicine practices and the cultural techniques of the Native American people.
A donation to this fundraiser would give me support during my year of service. More importantly, it allows JVC placement sites to support future JV volunteers. The Friendship House Association for American Indians is an important cause that deserves the opportunity for continued growth and support.
Thank you for any and all donations!!!
