Story

Colin O'Malley, Gill Runciman, Joe Gordon, Lourens Erasmus and Vanna Chhay are fundraising on behalf of PPL for The Brompton Fountain for the fourth year by running at The Royal Parks Half Marathon 2024 and it will take place on 13th of October!

The Brompton Fountain rely solely on the kindness and generosity of its amazing supporters who fundraise so they can continue their vital work.

PPL are fundraising to help fund for Specialist Bedside Heart Monitor Machines capable of monitoring not only heart rates but also blood pressure and oxygen levels using the latest technology. Linking directly to the nurse’s station, staff are given continuous access to vital information on each child.

The Brompton Fountain supports children and young people at Royal Brompton Hospital - they provide vital support and resources, medical equipment and services which are not normally supplied by the NHS. They work closely with the hospital teams within the paediatric intensive care unit (PICU) and children's wards and fundraise to improve the quality of life for young patients and their families and make a real difference when it's needed most.

The team have first-hand experience of caring for a child with a serious illness and are able to offer support to these children and their families before, during and after an admission. Many of their patients have life limiting conditions and will require frequent admissions and often long stays in hospital for surgery and on-going treatment for the rest of their lives.
