Story
The boys are growing their moustaches to raise money for men's mental health this November. All donations received will go towards Aware NI, to support people with their mental health and to help educate & provide training to encourage everyone's well being!
There’s a stigma surrounding mental health in Northern Ireland, with mounting pressure on men to ‘man up’. Men are less likely to open up to their family and friends about their struggles with mental health, which can have worrying consequences. In fact, suicide is the leading killer of men under 50 in Northern Ireland with 1 in 3 men having experienced suicidal thoughts as a result of feeling stressed.
AWARE is the depression charity for Northern Ireland working for people with depression and bipolar disorder.
AWARE has an established network of 24 support groups in rural and urban areas across the country, which are run by trained volunteers. Support groups welcome people with depression & bipolar disorder as well as carers for people with the illness. AWARE deliver mental health & well being programmes into communities, schools, colleges, universities & workplaces across Northern Ireland. For more information visit www.aware-ni.org
