Story
This year, our school’s heart and soul, Mrs Cate Sheehan, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Known for her endless dedication, warmth, and the incredible spirit she brings to our community, Cate is truly the glue that holds Tighes Hill Public School together.
To show our love and support, we're hosting a Pink Day fundraiser in her honour to raise funds for the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation. On this special day, our students and staff are invited to wear pink together, buy a yummy pink treat from our Bake Sale, get their face painted, participate in Pink Day activities and competitions, all to raise funds for breast cancer research and support services. Every donation will go towards helping countless others in their fight against this disease.
These services include a mobile wig & headwear library; transport to treatment and related medical appointments; prosthesis & children's education financial support; cleaning and lawn maintenance during active treatment; comfort cushions for post-surgery; children's books explaining breast cancer; a Wellness Hub + more.
Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation (HBCF) is a locally based not-for-profit that is 100% funded by the local Hunter community. They provide practical & immediate support services for local Hunter residents and their families navigating their cancer journey.
Let’s rally around Mrs Sheehan and demonstrate the strength of our community. Whether you’re able to contribute a little or a lot, every bit helps and means the world to us and to Mrs Sheehan. Join us in making a difference!
