Story
SWAN UK supports families affected by a syndrome without a name – a genetic condition so rare it can often remain undiagnosed. It is the only dedicated support network for these families in the UK and exists to ensure they don’t feel alone on their journey.
A lot of #TeamPigment weren’t previously aware of SWAN UK and the incredible work they do until a member of our team mentioned that their youngest daughter is a swan. This really put the idea of supporting such a personal cause into perspective and the team have since, collectively chosen to raise money for SWAN UK in support of this much-loved team member and their family.
The overall aim of our fundraising is to walk, run, cycle 1000 miles in the hope of raising £1500. Now, because we love a challenge here at Pigment, the main walkathon event will take place on Friday 16th June, where as many members of the team as possible will attempt to walk the 30 miles from Skipton to Leeds, along the canal. Possibly refreshing at the odd pub along the way!
To coincide with SWAN UK’s Undiagnosed Children’s Day, we’ll officially be kicking our fundraising off on Friday 28th April with a tombola, staff fuddle, pic n mix stall and guess the number of sweets in the jar competition. We’ll also have an exercise bike in the studio which has to be cycled all day – getting us started on that 1000-mile challenge!
We know that times are incredibly tough right now so any contribution you can offer would be so, so appreciated!
Please also feel free to share the JustGiving link far and wide – this is as much about raising awareness as it is vital funds.
