PI-KEM Plodders - One More Lap for Kids' Village

Fundraising for Kids' Village
£1,130
raised of £600 target
Event: One More Lap, on 15 September 2024
One More Lap will see runners competing to complete as many laps of Stowe Pool as they can in 12 hours. This will be Lichfield’s first ultramarathon and it’s all in the name of a good cause – with every penny raised going to Kids' Village.

Story

The PI-KEM Plodders are 'tuning up' ready to for 'One More Lap', an ultra-endurance relay event. Six of the PI-KEM Team will be joining forces to make up our 'Formula Slow' Team, competing (well joining in!) to complete as many laps of Stowe Pool as they can in 12 hours.

We are no elite team but we will be having lots of fun in our PI-KEM Pit- Stop with our designated Pit Crew and Sid, our rescue scooter!

Our Plodders on the day will be our Advanced Team (the ones who can run) of Ruth, Brigid and Sally, our Intermediates of Adam and Emma and then our Apprentice...Fiona.

This is going to be a huge challenge for us all but we are excited to be taking part in Lichfield’s first ultramarathon and it’s all in the name of a good cause – with every penny raised going to local charity, Kids’ Village.

Kids’ Village is set to be the UK’s first respite holiday village for sick children & their families. The village, set to be built in Wychnor just outside Lichfield, will be a place for children to enjoy time together with their families in nature, free from daily challenges of battling a serious illness.

If you can help us smash our target of £600 we would be so grateful or just come along and give us some encouragement on the day - we plan on being the noisiest bunch so bring your noise makers with you!
