Story
The Steers continue to show their support to a great charity and this one is “Phred” Daddy doing his bit of madness by taking part in and now has completed the Atlantic Coast Challenge which is a gruelling 3 stage trail over 3 days equaling 78.6 miles (3 Marathons) 🏃♂️😱
I’m raising money for the Starlight ward which our daughter spent a lot time on whilst being treated for Wilms (in remission now) they are looking at incorporating a holistic approach in the treatment which anyone that knows me, a medical and holistic approach is something that I’m a big advocate of.
Reiki is an alternative therapy of Japanese origin. The goal of Reiki is to promote relaxation, reducing stress and supporting well-being. It works by the practitioner placing their hands lightly on or above the recipient’s body and can include the use of music or essential oils to help induce a deep state of relaxation. This helps to bring the recipient down from a high anxiety state, acting as a reboot for the mind and body. The Grand Appeal funds Reiki Therapy sessions for young patients on Starlight, the children’s oncology ward, to help support patients’ mental well-being and reduce physical symptoms such as pain, nausea and sleeping problems.
Deb and Raina, The Grand Appeal’s Reiki Therapists, also help young patients to learn breathing and relaxation techniques to manage their stress and anxiety. By arming them with these coping mechanisms, children are better able to manage their hospital stay.
We’ve not quite achieved the funds so thank everyone so far who have donated but please do keep in coming to help me raise funds to make this possible.
Thanks in Anticipation
