Fundraising for Lymphoma Action
Hello! I’m running the 2025 London Marathon to raise money for Lymphoma Action.
I hadn’t envisioned running the marathon this year, however, in August 2024, my Dad was diagnosed with Waldenstrom’s Macroglobulinemia (WM), a rare and incurable type of Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. He is currently undergoing treatment and hoping to go into remission after that. My Dad has always been fit and healthy (like so many others in the same position) and so it was a huge blow to my whole family. To combat the shock and the feeling of uncertainty, I decided that I wanted to do something positive which would also make a difference for him and for other families like ours.
My Dad is my best friend and the strongest person I know. Even while facing the challenges of chemotherapy, he’s remained unwaveringly positive, lifting all of us up with his support and warmth. Through it all, he’s continued to bring countless laughs to our family, never failing to make us smile, and of course finding time for his beloved fishing trips!
Lymphoma Action aims to raise awareness of lymphoma and to be the voice of people with lymphoma, as well as championing ongoing research and clearer communication. For those directly affected (both patients and their families) Lymphoma Action is committed to supporting them through the diagnosis and treatment as well as helping them to adapt to a 'new normal', by providing information and support, as well as connecting them to other people in a similar situation. Lymphoma Action’s mission is to make sure no one faces lymphoma alone, which is so important during such a scary time. My family and I have already experienced first-hand their amazing work and their kindness and compassion.
Any donations are really really appreciated.
Love Phoebe xxxxx
