On the 17th August 2024 I gave birth to my beautiful daughter, Arabella. Less than 8 months after giving birth, I have mentally and physically signed up to train for the London Marathon in aid of supporting Team Barnardo's. Barnardo's is an organization that helps hundreds of thousands of children, young people, parents and carers across the UK. They have the firm believe that all children have the right to a happy and healthy life, no matter who they are or what they've been through, their background, race or gender does not disadvantage them.

I am hosting a Charity auction at lots road auctions on the 19th November to aid my fundraising for the Marathon but I am also relying on kind donations to help my fundraising for Barnardo’s.

Since becoming a mum, I am in total awe of my daughter and she has unlocked another level of motivation and devotion within me.

As the world is developing more young people are experiencing their own trauma therefore needing specialist help with complex issues like sexual abuse, mental health problems and serious violence. As a person who has suffered 2 out of those 3 I can only sympathise with others who need that help; I was fortunate enough to be in a position where I could access the help and have people to support me through my trauma, it took me a while to ask for the help but I’m so grateful and glad I did. And as a sibling of someone who has struggled greatly with mental health I can only thank the mental health teams who have transformed my sibling into a completely new person. I can only wish that every child could have the support and help that I did as without it I wouldn’t be in the place I am now, the trauma never goes away but it can slowly become a thing of the past if you are taught and helped with how to deal with it. This is why Barnardo's work is more vital than ever.
