In Memory of Debbie Baldwin

On September 9th 2021, my good friend Debbie lost her brave battle with ovarian cancer.

Debbie was taken well before her time at the age of 50.  She was fearless, funny, kind, and charitable.

Her achievements were many but, in addition to being a trained lawyer and devoting her time to defend those who the system left behind, she also volunteered at St John’s Ambulance for a number of years and was motivated to join London Ambulance Service’s volunteer Emergency Responder (ER) scheme in 2015 due to her 'deep sense of public duty and her passion for volunteering.'

Debbie advocated for early detection of the symptoms of Ovarian cancer which are still not well known or recognised, even by the medical profession, and worked closely with Ovacome raising money for charity throughout the period of her treatment.

To mark the second anniversary of Debbie`s passing, me and some very supportive mates will be cycling from London to Paris in under 24 hours.  A mere 320kms / 200 miles in the saddle…

Ovacome is the national UK ovarian cancer charity, focused on providing support and information to anyone affected by ovarian cancer. This includes people who have either been diagnosed with the disease or think that they might be at risk, as well as their friends and family and healthcare professionals.
