Story
Three years ago, while hiking in the Glyderau, Ann-Marie broke her ankle. The Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue team arrived within an hour, administered first aid, and arranged for Ann-Marie to be airlifted to the hospital.
We had been planning a fundraiser, but sadly, Ann-Marie passed away in January this year.
In her memory, I will be hiking the Oggie 8 Route on the 24th of July. The Oggie 8 is one of the most challenging routes in Snowdonia, covering eight peaks in one day, each standing at 3,000 feet.
I would greatly appreciate any donations to this fantastic cause, which I know Ann-Marie would have loved to join me in supporting.
Who is OVMRO?
Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Organisation (OVMRO), or Sefydliad Achub Mynydd Dyffryn Ogwen as we are known in the native Welsh language, is a voluntary mountain rescue team responding to incidents in the mountains and valleys surrounding the Ogwen Valley, Glyderau, and Carneddau mountain ranges and surrounding area in northern Snowdonia. We are on-call 24 hours a day, throughout the year.
