Story
As you all know, my favourite things to do (when not chasing children or picking up macaroni from the floor) are to watch Netflix and eat buckets of popcorn. Maybe do a yin yoga class at a push.
This year, as I turned 40, I decided to get off the sofa and get back to exercise. I signed up to the triathlon, the Kensal Tri at Blenheim Palace, with a bunch of fun and inspiring people in my area. And since then I’ve done 3 months of front crawl lessons, got out of bed for 7am bike rides, been swimming in murky lakes, and run a LOT of laps of Queen’s Park.
On 3 June, I will:
- swim 750m in a lake
- cycle 20km
- run 5km

Any money you can give will go to Gift Your Neighbour, an amazing community food aid initiative set up during Covid to help combat food poverty in our borough, and is now needed more than ever as the cost of living crisis continues to affect local families.
Run solely by volunteers, they have been providing non-perishable weekly food parcels over the past two and a half years to over 220 people (65 households) in Queen’s Park, Brondesbury and Kensal Green. One of our neighbours runs the whole thing, and James and I were involved in helping out during lockdown.
100% of any money donated is spent on ensuring there is food for the parcels. £20, for example, buys fruit and veg for 40 families. It is linked to Salusbury World, a charity offering social and educational support to refugee families in north west London.
Please sponsor me today - help me get over that finish line and provide more fresh food for families in need.
Thank you xx
