Story
Hi all,
As many of you know we (James, Kirsty, Sophie, Pamela and Ben) are doing the Superhero Triathlon at Eton Dorney on Saturday 17th August to raise money for White Lodge Centre. We have entered as a family team.
The Superhero Tri is a triathlon with a difference, it enables those with a disability to take part in a large sporting event. Like a traditional triathlon it includes a swim, a cycle, and a run but unlike a traditional triathlon, every team must have at least one competitor with a disability (this will be James) and we can use whatever gadgets and equipment is needed to help James complete the course.
We will be attempting the Sprint Superhero Tri: 150m Swim, 3km cycle and 1km push/run - all of which we hope James will be able to complete (with assistance).
Here is a video which shows you what the Superhero Tri is all about:
White Lodge provides services that enable those with a range of disabilities, their families and carers to lead fulfilling lives.
White Lodge has supported James since he was 3 months old. They currently support over 1,200 individuals across Surrey and beyond through a diverse range of services for all ages and abilities.
They provide services for all ages, including: physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, a specialist nursery, hydrotherapy, holiday clubs, personal support in the home, short breaks (respite), fitness and rehabilitation and many activities such as trips out, art, baking, swimming, and much more.
